SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: Excuses only delay successes. (Radford)

ATTENTION LANCERS: The CSC Club or Community Service Club will hold its first meeting on Tuesday at lunch in Room 814. We will be discussing the clubs objectives and how you can earn Community Service hours here on campus. We already have volunteer opportunities available to our club members and these will be given out at the meeting. There are many opportunities here on campus to earn your community service requirements, so get involved and show up to Room 814 at lunch on Tuesday. If you have not already signed up to be a member of the club, please stop by Room 814 and sign up outside on the window. All new lancers are welcome to join. (Salts)

STUDENTS: If you are interested in community service, the Chula Vista Elks on Telegraph Canyon can use your help as waiters and waitresses. Please see Ms. Gerlack in the counseling center for the information. (Gerlack)

FRISBEE CLUB: Any students interested in joining the Frisbee Club, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at lunch in Room 1457. (Souldau)

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Today is the last day to turn in your California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Application. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to become a CSF Member. (Yamada)

STUDENTS: We have two new classes being offered this year. They are Introduction to Engineering and Principles of Engineering. Here you will learn about the exciting world of computer design, 2 and 3 dimensional drawings, and Engineering concepts. This class is hands-on and you will be doing projects and drawings. Please contact your counselor for more information. (A.P. Mr. Reyes)

PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: School culture is the assumptions, beliefs, values, and habits that constitute the norm for the school and guide the work of educators within it. (Radford)

FACULTY: The newest club on campus, CSC (Community Service Club) has been formed to assist students in achieving their goal of acquiring volunteer hours. Our club will mainly focus on tasks around our campus here at Hilltop. Beautifying our campus and bringing it back to its glory days will be on e of our main focuses. However, we are also seeking your help. We would like to hear from you, if you have any projects either in your room or around camp0us that you would like completed, please send me an email and I will arrange a time for members of our club to complete the task. Coaches who need assistance cleaning, clearing, or anything else with their fields or courts, we can help. If you have it4ems from the community that you know of, please also send that information our way. I will itemize every request and have an assignment sheet for our club members to sign-up. (Salts)

COACHES: We have a small group of members from the CSC Club who want to start an athletic Tutoring section of the club. They would like to arrange times around your practice schedules (after practice) to meet with your players who are in need of extra academic tutoring. These are Athletes who are also AP and Honor students here on campus and would like to give back to their school in this manner. If you have any members of your teams who are in need of tutoring at anytime during the season and school year, please send me a quick email with their names and our kids will arrange times with them outside of your team time to provide academic support.
