STUDENTS: Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) – Course Description: Students will learn the design process that takes place to develop a product. This will include identifying the problem, brainstorming possible solutions, selecting the best appropriate approach, developing construction documents and creating a prototype. This course allows students to use sophisticated three-dimensional modeling software to improve existing products, invent new ones, and communicate the details of the products to others. The course also includes concerns about social and political consequences of technological change. These are 1st period and 2nd period classes. If you are interested, please see your counselor. (Kaine)

STUDENTS: If you are interested in community service, the Chula Vista Elks on Telegraph Canyon can use your help as waiters and waitresses. Please see Ms. Gerlack in the counseling center for the information. (Gerlack)

FACULTY

PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: District goals should include stretch goals. These goals will be so challenging that people throughout the organization will be called upon to build new capacities in order to achieve them. Stretch goals inspire, capture imagination, stimulate creativity and innovation and unify. (Radford)

TEACHERS: Just a reminder on use of printers. Please limit the number of copies printed to five; if you need more copies make a master and then use the copy machines. Print copies are far more expensive and running several copies ties up the machines especially during nutrition break and lunch when students are printing. The printer in the library is just hanging in there and my other printer is broken beyond repair. Thank you for your cooperation. (Mr. R.)
