SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: When taking a test, pace yourself; within reason, take your time. Getting through ahead of everyone else and being the first to fail doesn’t earn extra credit points. (Radford)

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS OF THE PEP CLUB AND HOOLIGANS: There is a mandatory meeting today at the beginning of lunch in the amphitheater. Please be prompt, we will be dealing with important issues for Homecomming football game. Members not attending today’s meeting will not be able to enter the game with us for free with the club tonight. (Salts)

ATTENTION ALL COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB MEMBERS: We have new opportunities available for community service hours. Please stop by and see Coach Sallts at Nutrition Break today. (Salts)

STUDENTS 9 - 12: If you are in the top 5% of your class and are seriously interested in the field of medicine. The National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine may be for you. It is a 10 day program in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, LA, Philadelphia, San Francisco or Washington DC. This will cost you well over $2000, but scholarships are available and you can fundraise. See Ms. Gerlack in the Counseling Center. (Gerlack)

STUDENTS 9 - 12: Scholarship opportunity. A great opportunity if you are exceptional in performing and/or visual arts. October 1st is the deadline for performing arts which includes non-classical voice, classical voice, non-classical dance, ballet, jazz instrumental and classical instrumental. The deadline for visual arts is December 1st. This is for those talented in photography and two dimensional art. The Scholarship is called Spotlight Awards. See Ms. Gerlack in the Counseling Center if you have any questions. (Gerlack)

ATTENTION ALL GRADES: If you have put in serious hours of community service, then the 2010 Prudential Spirit of community Awards may be a scholarship you want to apply to. Winners receive a $1000 scholarship and a trip to Washington DC. Info in the Counseling Center. (Gerlack)

FACULTY

TIDBIT OF THE DAY: Will we close the knowing –doing gap by taking purposeful action because, at long last, we acknowledge that “to KNOW and not DO is really not to know”. (Radford)

TEACHERS: If anyone would like Sandra Wilhoit (wonderful retired teacher of HTH) to sub for you when needed, do not call the district, but instead call her direct if you would like for her to sub for you. If you do not have her number, come see me in the main office. (Joey)
