Daily Bulletin #33 Thursday, September 10, 2009
STUDENT SECTION
SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: You can only memorize well the things you really understand. If something doesn’t make sense, get help in solving the mystery. (Radford)
“ATTENTION ALL LANCERS: The African American Student union is still looking for members to join! All students are welcome, regardless of race, to join a fun club that gives back to the community and holds fundraisers. Come see what the club is all about during our meeting at lunch on Thursday, September, 17th, in Room 1402. If you have any questions, see Ms. Scott.”
STUDENTS AND PARENTS: The fee waivers for the SAT test still have not arrived. I have contacted the College Board multiple times and they said that this is an issue nation-wide and that it is not just our site that is complaining. As such, the deadline for students to register fort the SAT with a fee waiver has been extended to September 23rd, for the October 10th test sitting. If the student does not qualify for a waiver, the deadline to register without a fee penalty for the October 10th test is still today. Students can register at collegeboard.com. (Treat)
STUDENTS: One of our newer clubs on campus is called Uniting With Uganda. We meet every Thursday at lunch in Room 1408. Students interested in having a pen pal in Uganda should definitely check out this club! Another goal of the club is to earn some money for the school in Kampala, Uganda. Last year when the school decided to charge $1 per SEMSTER fee to buy lunches for students who usually came to school with empty stomachs, many students had to drop out of school because they couldn’t afford the $1 fee. Hilltop High wants to help. If YOU want to be part of that wonderful effort, please join us at lunch TODAY, Thursday in Room 1408. See you there! (Radford)
ALL MEMBERS OF THE PEP CLUB AND HOOLIGANS: There will be lunch time meetings this Thursday and Friday to discuss routines, procedures, and show up times for this Friday’s home football game in the gymnasium. All Lancers who are still interested in joining the Pep Club and/or Hooligans are welcome to come to the meetings. (Salts)
BEST BUDDIES: There will be a Best Buddies meeting TODAY, Thursday, September 10th . (Baer)
ATTENTION 10TH GRADERS: The Compact for Success Fieldtrip is scheduled for September 23rd. Compact eligible 10th graders will be getting a permission slip today in your English class. Remember to turn in your permission slip TOMORROW in the Counseling Center.
ATTENTION ALL LANCERS: The African American Student Union is still looking for members to join!
