STUDENT SECTION

SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: French, Spanish and German are not the only subjects with strange sounding words. Notice how many terms there are in science, math and English! Building a good vocabulary helps ALL of these courses. (Radford)

STUDENTS: Interested in writing for the upcoming issue of Hilltop’s newspaper. The Lance?? Come to a lunch time meeting in Room 1524 on TUESDAY the 22nd. Hope to see you there. (Cunningham)

BIBLE CLUB: will meet every Monday, at lunch, in Room 811. Do not miss this blessed event! Everyone is welcome!
(Skalicky)

LIBRARY UPDATE LANCERS: I am seeing many students without a cover on their new math textbooks. Remember the cost of the book is $84 and the average textbook fine is $5. Please use a heavy paper cover to protect the corners and edges. (Ms. R.)

SENIORS: The AXA Achievement scholarship is worth $10,000 at the state level and $25,000 at the national level. This is a must but is obviously very competitive. They are looking for students who are goal oriented and have their future planned out. They are looking for serious community service/club involvement. Excellent grades are required. Pick an application up at the Counseling Center. (Gerlack)

SENIORS: Great scholarship opportunity. The Elks National Foundation offers scholarships from $8,000 to 60,000. It is based on GPA (3.5 minimum), leadership, community service, and financial need. Don’t worry about the financial need. Apply anyway. Scholarships are in the Counseling Center. (Gerlack)

BEST BUDDIES MEETING: Today, Friday, September 18th, in Room 812. (Gossett)

ATTENTION CSF SENIORS: We will be having our first official CSF meeting for all CSF qualified seniors TODAY at lunch in Room 1459. We will be voting for senior officers and discussing our plans for this school year. Hope to see you all there! (Yamada)
