SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: By taking good notes, you can remember about 75% of the material a week after a lecture is given; if you do NOT take notes, you’ll remember only about half of the material. Taking notes really pays off! (Radford)
STUDENTS: College bound seniors must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During those months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Mr. Salts. Mr. Salts attended Southwestern College, Cal Baptist, Riverside Community College, BYU, Regents University, USD, & National University. He earned degrees in History, Liberal Studies, Special Education and Public Administration. Mr. Salts believes that students should research different schools in order to find the one that is tailored to your needs. His most memorable experiences from college include the friendships that he made and playing sports at the collegiate level where you travel by plane to your matches! Stop by Room 814 if you would like more information regarding the colleges or universities that Mr. Salts attended. (Di Stefano)
“JESUS FREAKS” Bible Club meets tomorrow, Thursday and lunch in Room 811. All are welcome. (Skalicky)
ATTENTION SENIORS: During the month of October we will be having college admission representatives visiting our campus. The Schools scheduled to visit us are UCSD, SDSU, Redlands and Mt. Saint Marys. A minimum of 2.75 GPA average is required to attend these presentations. If you are interested in attending any of these presentations please signup in the Counseling Center. (Ms. Del Rosario)
ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Are you considering attending an art school after high school? If so you may want to attend the FIDM information session on October 30th. There is no minimum GPA for this presentation and it is open to all interested Juniors and Seniors. Please sign up in the Counseling Center to reserve your space. (Ms. Del Rosario)
ATTENTION 10TH AND 11TH GRADE STUDENTS: taking the PSAT test today. You need to look at the student lists posted outside Room 301 and in front of the main office to know which room you need to report to today. Remember this is a very important test and you must be on time. Make sure you are well rested and eat breakfast. Good luck. (AP Reyes)
