STUDENTS OF ALL GRADES: We are re-soliciting students for the Principal’s Round Table. If you are interested in becoming a member, please see Mrs. Ocampo in the main office to pick up an application. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 24th in the library during 4th period. (Ocampo)

ATTENTION ALL PEP CLUB/HOOLIGANS: There is an important meeting today in the gym at the beginning of lunch. Be early the meeting should only last 5 minutes but is very important. (Salts)

RETURNING MEMBERS OF THE BOYS VARSITY SOCCER PROGRAM: need to meet with Coach Salts today at Nutrition Break in Room 814 for a quick meeting on uniforms. (Salts)

ATTENTION ALL LANCERS: our boys water polo team plays today at 3:00 pm at Parkway pool in a must win league match against Mater Dei. Our boys need your help in Turning Parkway Pool into a Rock’in Atmosphere in order to cheer on our Lancers to Victory. Novice Plays at 2:30pm, Varsity at 3:00pm and JV at 4:000pm. Be loud, Be Proud, Go Green, and Be Seen today at Parkway Pool!!!! (Salts)

ATTENTION ALL LANCERS: who have signed up to volunteer at Rosebank Elementary School for their Fall Festival, a reminder that it is Tomorrow, Saturday, October 24th. The shifts were from 8:00am – 12:00 noon and 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Thank you in advance for your participation. (Coach Salts)

ATTENTION ALL PEP CLUB AND HOOLIGANS: we will start having weekly meetings at Lunch in the Gymnasium on Thursdays. These will only last 5 – 10 minutes at the beginning of lunch but are very important in planning for our events. Again, we will meet every Thursday in the Gymnasium at the beginning of lunch. THE COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB: is receiving new volunteer opportunities each week and are posting these on the window outside Room 814. Stop by and sign up for volunteer hours. (Salts)

STUDENTS: College bound seniors must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During these months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Carol Baer advises students to learn good study habits now, always attend classes, and keep studying throughout the semester. Her most memorable experience from college was that she was the first person in her family to earn a college degree. (Di Stefano)






STUDENTS: When returning to school or work after an illness PLEASE be free of fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or 37.8 degrees Celsius or higher) for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication. This will greatly reduce the number of new people who may get infected. (Matheny)

ATTENTION UNITING WITH UGANDA AND AAA CLUB MEMBERS: We will have a joint meeting today, Friday at lunch in 1408. There will not be a Uniting with Uganda meeting on Thursday. See you all tomorrow. (Radford)

ATTENTION ALL BOYS: interested in trying out for the Boy’s Soccer Program, you need to have your Clearance packet completed (including a physical and signature from the library) and ready to be turned in after school on Friday, November 6th to the outside window at the ASB. This is the designated day for soccer players to turn in their clearance packet. You will need to plan ahead and get your physical taken care of early. Remember, Friday, November 6th after school at the ASB. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)

ALL LANCER BOYS: interested in playing soccer this year must have a completed clearance packet turned into the ASB and a Team Guidelines Packet filled out by the time of tryouts on Saturday, November 14th in order to participate this season. You may pick up a packet fro Room 814. Check the Hilltop Athletics website for further information. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)

LANCERS: The Community Service Club has volunteer opportunities for tomorrow, Saturday, October 24th at Rosebank Elementary for their Annual Fall Festival. We will need ten students from 8:00 to 12:00 noon and then another ten students from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm for set up and tear down. This is available to the First 20 students who can commit to these hours and sign up in Room 814. Each year we normally get about 50 to 60 kids volunteer so be quick and sign up early. GO LANCERS!!! COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS: If you have college application questions or if you need help filling out your college applications, plan to attend a Thursday “College Application Workshop.” Counselors will be available to help seniors this Thursday during lunch in Room 302. Other Thursday lunchtime workshop dates are scheduled for Oct. 29th, Nov. 5th, Nov. 12th and Nov. 19th. (Di Stefano)

Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Michael Kaine. Mr. Kaine attended National University. In order to be successful in college, Mr. Kaine advises students to never give up and stay in school until you have that degree. His most memorable college experience includes meeting so many people working toward a goal and being encouraged to work hard to pursue your own goals. (Di Stefano)

ATTENTION FEMALES: If any of you are interested in signing up for Miss Teenage California 2010, see Ms. Gerlack in the counseling center. Top winner: $10,000 scholarship to college of your choice. Competition categories are: achievements and activities in school and in the community; personality; poise and presence in formal attire. (Gerlack)

COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS: Please know that ANY “D” or “F” grade earned in the senior year will disqualify students from admission to SDSU or any UC campus. It is important to monitor your student progress as we approach the second progress report cycle ending October 30th. (Counselors)

FLU SHOTS: Wednesday, November 4th, 3:30 – 5:30 at Rancho Del Rey Cultural Arts Center. Shots are for employees only and will be for the seasonal flu. Please contact your primary care physician for Swine Flu information. Please wear short sleeved shirts or blouses on the day you are planning to get your shot. Pneumonia shots will be offered for $50.00.
