SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: Don’t let people dump guilt on you; go ahead and refuse to do things they want you to do when you know those things will keep you from achieving worthwhile goals. (Radford)
STUDENTS OF ALL GRADES: We are re-soliciting students for the Principal’s Round Table. If you are interested in becoming a member, please see Mrs. Ocampo in the main office to pick up an application. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 24th in the library during 4th period. (Ocampo)
S.A.D.D. CLUB: There will be an organizational meeting for the S.A.D.D. CLUB students against destructive decisions today, Monday, October 26th, in Mrs. Thompson’s Room 1526. If you want to promote positive goals and values at Hilltop, please join us!!! (Thompson)
ATTENTION ANY GIRLS INTRESTED IN PLAYING WTER POLO: There will be a very important meeting on Wednesday, October 28th in Room 404 about the upcoming season. Please be prompt. (Olsen)
STUDENTS: The California Student Opportunity and Access Program, (Cal-SOAP). College Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, at the Scottish Rite Center at 1895 Camino del Rio South, San Diego. ATTENTION ALL PEP CLUB AND HOOLIGANS: we will start having weekly meetings at Lunch in the Gymnasium on Thursdays. These will only last 5 – 10 minutes at the beginning of lunch but are very important in planning for our events. Again, we will meet every Thursday in the Gymnasium at the beginning of lunch. (Salts)
THE COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB: is receiving new volunteer opportunities each week and are posting these on the window outside Room 814. Stop by and sign up for volunteer hours. (Salts)
ATTENTION ALL BOYS: interested in trying out for the Boy’s Soccer Program, you need to have your Clearance packet completed (including a physical and signature from the library) and ready to be turned in after school on Friday, November 6th to the outside window at the ASB. This is the designated day for soccer players to turn in their clearance packet. You will need to plan ahead and get your physical taken care of early. Remember, Friday, November 6th after school at the ASB. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)
ALL LANCER BOYS: interested in playing soccer this year must have a completed clearance packet turned into the ASB and a Team Guidelines Packet filled out by the time of tryouts on Saturday, November 14th in order to participate this season. You may pick up a packet fro Room 814. Check the Hilltop Athletics website for further information. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)
COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS: If you have college application questions or if you need help filling out your college applications, plan to attend a Thursday “College Application Workshop.” Counselors will be available to help seniors this Thursday during lunch in Room 302. Other Thursday lunchtime workshop dates are scheduled for Oct. 29th, Nov. 5th, Nov. 12th and Nov. 19th. (Di Stefano)

COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS: must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During these months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Michael Kaine. Mr. Kaine attended National University. In order to be successful in college, Mr. Kaine advises students to never give up and stay in school until you have that degree. His most memorable college experience includes meeting so many people working toward a goal and being encouraged to work hard to pursue your own goals. (Di Stefano)
COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS: Please know that ANY “D” or “F” grade earned in the senior year will disqualify students from admission to SDSU or any UC campus. It is important to monitor your student progress as we approach the second progress report cycle ending October 30th. (Counselors)

PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: The only way to continuously improve is to continuously come up with new and better ideas that can be shown to produce better results, and the only way to come up with those ideas is through learning. (Radford)
FLU SHOTS: Wednesday, November 4th, 3:30 – 5:30 at Rancho Del Rey Cultural Arts Center. Shots are for employees only and will be for the seasonal flu. Please contact your primary care physician for Swine Flu information. Please wear short sleeved shirts or blouses on the day you are planning to get your shot. Pneumonia shots will be offered for $50.00.
