STUDENTS OF ALL GRADES: We are re-soliciting students for the Principal’s Round Table. If you are interested in becoming a member, please see Mrs. Ocampo in the main office to pick up an application. Applications are due by Friday, November 6th and our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 24th in the library during 4th period. (Ocampo)
STUDENTS: College bound seniors must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During these months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Mr. Jenkins attended the University of Southern California. In order to be successful in college, Mr. Jenkins advises students to work on the routine of self discipline, reserve study and reading time daily, keep up on current events, read famous books, and deep an open mind. His most memorable experience from college was playing with the USC symphony, being on his own, and meeting his future wife (she was also in the symphony). (Di Stefano)

LANCER ATHLETES: Winter sport clearance begins on Wednesday, November 4th. Please check the schedule at the ASB to see what day your sport clears on. Remember to have all information and signatures completed before your turn in your packet. Don’t forget library clearance! (Kracha)
LANCERS: Please stop by the ASB if you are interested in an application for Senate this year. Elections will be held on November 16th and 17th. (Kracha)
SENIORS: Sign Up for the Senior-staff dodge ball game in the ASB before the end of lunch today. The cost is $5.00 for your shirt and you must have at least a 2.0 GPA with no Saturday Schools. The teachers are scheduled to defeat you on Wednesday, November 4th after school. Don’t miss it! (Dracha)
JUNIORS AND SENIORS OF ASIAN PACIFIC DESCENT: Great opportunity. There is a conference in March in Sacramento that is fully paid for. The conference offers group workshops on leadership development, cultural identity and awareness, the legislative process, and public speaking. SENIORS: The Elks National Foundation Scholarship is due by Friday morning to Ms. Gerlack. This is a great scholarship. Don’t miss out on this one. (Gerlack)
SENIORS: The Hispanic Heritage Foundation offers a $1000 scholarship with a grand prize of $10,000. It is a short essay on “How do you think education can impact the Heritage of Hispanic generations to come?” Due November 30th. (Gerlack)
SENIORS: The Gates Millennium Scholarship is in and it is a must. If you receive this one, you get a full ride for at least 4 years to the college that you applied and are accepted to. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.3. Must have financial need and must be of minority descent. The application is in the Counseling Center or go on line at www.gmsp.org (Gerlack)

PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: A guiding coalition is an alliance of key members of an organization who are specifically charged to lead a change process through the predictable turmoil. Members of the alliance should have shared objectives and high levels of trust. (Radford)
FLU SHOTS: Wednesday, November 4th, 3:30 – 5:30 at Rancho Del Rey Cultural Arts Center. Shots are for employees only and will be for the seasonal flu. Please contact your primary care physician for Swine Flu information. Please wear short sleeved shirts or blouses on the day you are planning to get your shot. Pneumonia shots will be offered for $50.00.
