SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: Because of peer pressure, some teenagers act as though they’ve read a warning a sign stating, “Beware, you COULD become a successful student.” This is one sign to ignore. (Radford)
STUDENTS: College bound seniors must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During these months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Ms. Lopez-Macias. Ms. Lopez-Macias attended San Diego State and National University. In order to be successful in college, Ms. Lopez-Macias advises students to start becoming accustomed to taking ownership and being responsible for their own progress, learning, and grades. YOU will be the most important motivating factor deciding whether or not you are successful. LANCERS: The boy’s water polo team will be conducting their annual Feed the Needy campaign this Monday. If you would like to donate items, please bring them by anytime before 3:00pm on Monday, November 9th, to Room 814. Items that we are looking for are: Packaged food, Canned Food, Bottled Water, Clothing, Jackets, Shoes, Blankets, Pillows, Sleeping Bags, etc. Thank you for your continued support. (Salts)
A REMINDER TO ALL BOY’S: interested in playing soccer this year at Hilltop, your day to turn in clearance packets to the ASB today, Friday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. If you do not have a clearance packet turned in by Tryouts next Saturday, November 14th you will not be allowed to participate, this includes returning players. (Salts)
BOY’S SOCCER: There will be a meeting for all students who are interested in participating this season at lunch on Tuesday, November 10th in the GYM. The meeting should not take longer than 5 minutes so please come at the beginning of lunch. (Salts)
UC BOUND SENIORS: UCSD is planning a UC Application Workshop tomorrow, Saturday, November 7th, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. GIRLS BASKETBALL: Tryouts will be held on Saturday, November 14th at noon in the gym. Be sure that you have turned in a completed packet to the ASB before that time or you won’t be able to try out. (Kracha)
