SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: Which sounds better, an hour and a half of concentrated study with good results or THREE hours of slipshod “study” learning only half as much? (Radford)
STUDENTS: College bound seniors must apply to CSU’s & UC’s during October and November. During these months, we will proudly announce some of Hilltop’s finest college graduates! Today’s “Staff Spotlight” is Ms. Manthos. Ms. Manthos attended the University of Arizona. In order to be successful in college, Ms. Manthos advises students to find support groups for successful students. Her most memorable experience from college was when she graduated! She was very fortunate because she was offered a job during her last semester of graduate school. (Di Stefano)
THE SADD C LUB: (Student’s Against Destructive Decisions) will have its SECOND ORGANIZATIONAL Meeting on Tuesday, November 10th, in Mrs. Thompson’s new Room 1526. We will be finalizing the SLATE FOR OFFICERS and planning for a peer to peer education campaign for HIV AWARENESS during November. All students are welcome! (Thompson)
ATTENTION ALL LANCERS: There is a meeting for the Gay-Straight Alliance at lunch in Room 404. All students welcome to attend! (Olsen)
GIRLS INTERESTED IN WATER POLO: There will be a meeting on Thursday, after school, in Room 404. (Olsen)
LANCER BOYS: interested in playing baseball, we will have an important meeting on Thursday, November 12th, in Room 1406 during lunch. Get their early to get a seat. (Gritts)
ATTENTION INTERACT CLUB: There will be a meeting today in Room 403 to discuss the Canned Food Drive and a possible Interact Winter Fair. See you there! (Linan)

BOY’S BASKETBALL: Tryouts (for all grade levels) will be held on Monday, November 16th at 3:00 pm in the gym. Be sure that you are cleared by the ASB before you try out. (Vallero)
BOY’S 9TH GRADE BASKETBALL: Tryouts will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 9:00 am in the gym. You must be cleared by ASB to tryout. (Vallero)
ATTENTION SENIORS: The Southwestern College Peer Advisor will be in the Counseling Center on Thursdays. If you have questions about SWC or need help filling out your application, please sign up to see her. The sign up sheet is located on the counter in the counseling Center. (Yamada)
BOY’S SOCCER: There will be a meeting for all students who are interested in participating this season at lunch today, Tuesday, November 10th in the GYM. The meeting should not take longer than 5 minutes so please come at the beginning of lunch. (Salts)
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Tryouts will be held on Saturday, November 14th at noon in the gym. Be sure that you have turned in a completed packet to the ASB before that time or you won’t be able to try out. (Kracha)
