Banner Headline - Field Hockey Successfully Defends Metro Championship

The Girls Varsity and JV Field Hockey teams clinched the Metro League title yesterday by defeating Bonita Bista.

The Varsity game was very exciting! The game was tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation play. Melissa Ramon scored on assists by Chelsea Donahue and Jordan Rhudy. The Bonita Vista goal was scored by Carly Schoch. The 10 minute overtime period ended with no score. The Strokes portion of over time was very exciting as well. Emily Scheet made an awesome save to stop the 1st Bonita Shot (Carly Schoch). Devon Senneseth made a beautiful goal. The second Bonita girl scored (Renee Crawford). Jordan Rhudy shot high. Bonita's 3rd went wide (Shelby Giese). Melissa Ramon scored. Bonita 's 4th (Danika Luna) was blocked by Emily and Kaitlin Mayal scored the final and winning stroke. AWESOME. This was a very good game. Both teams played very well.

The JV won as well but because of the length of the Varsity game, played a shortened game. Chelsea Ventura scored on a corner play. The ball was pushed out byAricelli Hernandez, stopped by Ashley Keeline, passed by Michelle Manibussan to Chelsea. The game was called due to darkness 5 minutes later.

Both teams play one final game on Thursday here at home against Otay Ranch. With the wins against Bonita Vista the outcomes do not affect the League title. The 2008 Hilltop Lancers are the Metro League Champs!!!

Community Service for Class of 2009

SUHSD Board Policy #6404.1 was adopted in July 1999 requiring a minimum of 30 hours of NON-PAID community service to be performed by students as part of their graduation requirements beginning with the class of 2004.

By the end of your 11th grade, all 30 hours are expected to be completed. Students may complete more hours as per university requirements.

All hours are to be recorded on the Community Service forms and submitted to the Social Science teacher. These forms can be found at the hhs web site, on the right side of the screen, under Community Service.

Social Science teachers at each grade level will record the hours on the district-generated scantrons they recieve at the end of each semester.

It is highly recommended that a copy of the community service form submitted to the social science teacher be kept by the student, with date and initials of the teacher form was submitted to.

Class of 2009, if you have not completed your 30 hours by the end of this grading period, you will need to complete them in time for the semester one grades of your senior year.
